Review: If you were to take the best parts of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Sum of All Fears) and mixed in the best parts of the only good Rambo film (First Blood), you end up with something like Shooter. Shooter is an action movie enjoyable smart, engaging and all out that it does not pull its punches and always surprises you when you least expect it it.Mark Wahlberg stars as Bob Lee Swagger, a former military sniper who left eh clean up after a disastrous mission in which his best friend and spotter are killed when they are abandoned. Three years later he was hired by a colonel (played with gusto by Danny Glover) to find out how a suspected murderess is going to try to kill the president for more than a mile away, a shot that few could do. Swagger find out how it's going to be done, and are asked to find the sniper on the spot monitor. But the day of the alleged murder, Swagger is set up with the murderess who kills a diplomatic visit. Swagger is then left in search while trying to show off her curves innocence.Shooter with an elaborate plot that is very interesting, but of course the authors wimp out and take the cheap way to attract international oil plot (writers can not think of a original plot device?). However, this is certainly not a disadvantage, because the rest of the film is solid as a rock. The film really puts you in the shoes of a sniper, and provides an impressive overview of mentality it takes to be as accurate as some of the character of Swagger.The only real distractions of the film would Kote Elias, performance psycho is heavy and not fits in the film, and Kate Mara, who has little to do throughout the film, but it seems to upset or discomfort. The film could have done without character or their respective companies. In addition, some of the relationships between the characters Seem forced to time, especially in the relationship between Michael Pe? Like the character of Nick Memphis and his FBI Confidential Lourdes, played by Rhona Mitra. Their camaraderie effort comes off as less than convincing.Overall, Shooter certainly delivers as an entertaining thrill-ride that is certainly not stunned in any case. If you want a smart action movie, with a lot of awesome gun games and more elaborate, exciting action sequences to boot, Shooter right up your alley and will not disappoint. 7.6 out of 10
